Dr. Shannon Currey on Native Grasses and Sedges

March 20, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

After 15 years with a wholesale nursery specializing in ornamental and native grasses, Shannon recently joined Izel Native Plants. She will share how grasses and sedges deliver tremendous benefits and add unique aesthetic appeal in the garden. Focusing on native selections, she’ll explain their role in reducing erosion, managing runoff, and reducing weed competition. You’ll enjoy her top grass picks and learn planting, siting, and care tips. With a Ph.D. in social psychology and a long career in horticulture, Shannon will grow your appreciation for the value native grasses bring to our lives.

Lectures are free for Club members. If we are not at capacity, guests are welcome. Guests pay $10 and RSVPs are required; the link will be on our home page prior to each month’s meeting.
